As the Quebec Functional leader for property and auto physical damage claims across personal and commercial lines you will be the senior claims leader in the Quebec region but also part of a national leadership team. Along with your leadership responsibilities you will be charged with the continued development and implementation of our “One Canada Claims approach”. This involves aligning our Quebec operations with our National property and auto physical damage model where possible. This role has direct ownership of a portfolio of claims that represents a significant amount in incurred reserves annually. You will also be responsible for customer experience, people engagement, delivering to operational plan, and continuous improvement for Quebec property and automobile. With a deep level of technical claims knowledge, this role provides leadership to the business area and embeds a culture of governance & control and employee engagement. In addition, this role will work closely with vendor management and sourcing in the selection and performance management of the corresponding vendor partners. This individual will also work closely with the National Property and auto physical damage Directors to develop and embed best practices and processes.

What you will achieve in this role:
• Lead Claims expense management for his/her business area including vendor spend, Loss Adjustment Expenses (LAE), headcount, etc and ongoing monitoring of expenses to ensure adherence to budget. • Leading teams through change• Process improvement and efficiency gains• Lead the Quebec team integration into the “One Canada” approach.• Plan and manage business operations within Quebec and resources in line with agreed performance targets, service standards, budgets and wider business and change objectives. • Build and maintain effective and strong working relationships with other business areas and functions in order to maximize the effectiveness of operations. • Analyze and interpret claims MI for business area to ensure optimal performance of operations. • Strong understanding of market and regulatory issues/trends in Quebec and developing corrective actions to mitigate risk to the business. Timely reporting of same to the National Property and auto physical damage Directors. • Develop, support and encourage the identification and implementation of new and/or better processes to improve service and efficiency. • Maintain and foster a strong governance and control environment for his/her business area in line with internal policy and material external legislative and/or regulatory requirements. • Recruit, manage, coach, develop and lead the Quebec teams to enhance Employee Engagement level through pro-active action planning and open communication. • Effective leadership and ongoing talent management, performance management and succession planning. • Development and delivery of key strategic initiatives surrounding process and service delivery.
What you bring to this role:
• Leading and motivating through change • 5+ years of leading managers/team leaders• 10 + years of technical claim knowledge in Property and auto physical damage• Strong analytic problem solving skills, financial skills and business acumen • Strong relationship management and engagement with key stakeholders • Excellent communication and presentation skills • Ability to influence across the organization • Ability to work and lead team in environment with competing priorities and timelines, while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines • Working knowledge of Claims operations and processes • Performance measurement and management of staff and ability to manage
