Position Overview:

This role will be responsible for leading and developing the strategic relationship with the National Brokers while working with the regional leadership teams to focus on development growth opportunities for both Personal Insurance and Small to Midsize Enterprise. In addition to taking the lead role in assisting with the development of the digital strategy, identifying and launching new opportunities with key brokers across the country. You will also work closely with the Business Solutions and Innovation team on evolving the broker partner relationships using a revamped digital strategy.
You will lead a multi-disciplinary sales support team that provides a range of planning, management information, administration, and coordination services to our distribution teams, as well as other various stakeholders throughout the business. In addition to providing strategic focus and leadership for the team, this role will establish and reinforce best practices that drive effectiveness, consistency, and alignment throughout the sales organization. Championing the interests of our business, sales teams, and customer groups (both brokers and end-customers), this role will help to deepen the sales culture throughout all parts of the organization.

What you will achieve in this role:

Leadership and Strategic focus for the National Sales Team including:
- align team members to a unified strategic vision, develop a clear value proposition and clear role responsibilities, and manage the delivery of an exceptional suite of sales and distribution support tools, resources, and services;
- develop and direct the effective and appropriate allocation of resources
- lead and motivate the team to share the breadth of their talent and capabilities
- maintain responsibility for the team oversight and governance

Strategic Planning, Coordination, and Management support for the sales organization, including:
- our executive team, head office functions, and regional stakeholders
- develop and direct a coordinated national sales strategy
- maximize the effectiveness, efficiency, productivity and consistency of the overall sales organization
- develop a quarterly sales and distribution report that provides national and regional trends and insights including a summary of broker and competitor info
- collaborate with regional leaders
- ensure that a strong pipeline of organic and portfolio new business growth exists in all regions for all product lines, in all targeted classes and segments of business

Represent the interests of the Business, the Sales Organization and our Customers, including:
- maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders throughout the business
- influence internal and external business strategies, shape and build buy-in for our overall sales strategy throughout the organization, and maximize our sales and business performance by engaging with RSA executives and external market

What you bring to this role:

• 7+ years of related business, sales and/or management experience
• Thorough knowledge of the insurance industry, with an emphasis on broker distribution
• Bachelor’s degree (or recognized equivalency) alongside a recognized industry designation (i.e. CIP, CAIB)
• Proven management capabilities in a multi-level sales organization
• Ability to successfully implement, influence and embedded change within a sales organization/culture
• Relationship and stakeholder management skills at a senior level
• Coordinate, prioritize and support requests from a variety of business units, maximize team resources
• Strong interpersonal, communications, public speaking, and presentation skills
• Demonstrated people leadership skills and the ability to both motivate and develop people
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders, both in-person and remotely
• Knowledge of budgeting, business development, customer service, and strategic planning
• Expense planning and management with an ability to prioritize spend to optimize results
• Proficient knowledge of sales and customer relationship management systems (i.e. Salesforce)
• Experience in supporting and collaborating on broker marketing and communications initiatives
