Position Overview:

The Digital Product Owner is responsible for setting, prioritizing, and evaluating the functionality and software developed by a Scrum team in order to ensure the features and functionality of the online product align with business objectives and the digital strategy. As a core member of the Johnson Digital team, the Product Owner will also take ownership of a defined set of capabilities and tools as required to ensure users, stakeholders and customers experience a desired online journey.

What you will achieve in this role

• Providing vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project
• Work closely with business stakeholders to develop a digital backlog for digital product requirements in order to maximize customer experience and business impact
• Partner with PMO and IT delivery teams to prioritize and manage assigned digital projects
• Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
• Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
• Lead the planning product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities
• Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
• Research and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the product
• Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends in areas of specialty (eg. Chatbot, online quote and bind)
• Work with business stakeholders and change leads to ensure digital products are positively received and implemented by the business
• Ensure digital product KPIs and metrics are set, optimized and regularly communicated to applicable internal stakeholders
• Ensure digital project and enhancement delivery is executed to a high standard, while ensuring appropriate approvals from internal stakeholder
• Work with vendors to align outsourced capabilities and tools with business needs

What you bring to this role

• Strong knowledge of the financial services and insurance sector
• Superior communications and client management skills
• Strong knowledge of Digital and technology
• Certification for Agile / Scrum Methodology or Product Ownership preferred but not required
• In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, technical understanding of products, and up-to-date on industry standards and best practices preferred but not required
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
• Accurate and precise attention to detail
• Able to build strong interpersonal relationships with business analysts, UI/UX team, leadership, senior management, and internal and external stakeholders
