Position Overview:

In this role you will be joining the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Team where you will help co-ordinate the annual planning process, consolidate Operational Plans, and ensure the completion of all Plan reporting requirements. Your primary responsibilities will be the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial performance reports for senior management. In addition you will be involved with maintaining and expanding the department’s financial, operational and industry reporting capabilities and performing various ad hoc analysis as directed.

What you will achieve in this role

• Manage, prepare and evaluate content for the Monthly Executive Report
• Analyze monthly results and prepare reports
• Assist in preparing quarterly financial reports
• Assist in coordinating the forecast process and annual Operational Planning process
• Analyze the Operational Plan and prepare reports
• Report on Key Performance Indicators
• Review FP&A processes and systems, make recommendations for key improvements, and lead the change initiative
• Develop strong strategic relationships with departments across Canada and Group reporting to ensure timely and accurate completion of all reporting requirements and to promote efficient information flow.
• Develop industry knowledge and monitor/report on performance/issues
• Provide support and/or lead ad hoc projects as necessary

What you bring to this role

Education Required
• University degree in Accounting/Business Administration/Finance/Actuarial Science
• Attained or working towards accounting (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) or Actuarial designation

Experience & Skills Required
• 3-5 years business experience in Finance/Accounting
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
• Solid verbal and written communication
• P&C insurance industry knowledge is an asset
• Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Positive attitude toward change
• Ability to multitask, set priorities and achieve targets
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to quickly learn and understand new business environments
