Position Overview:

The IT Business Partner is responsible for managing IT intake from the Customer, Marketing, and Digital teams, for both broker and direct channels. The primary focus of this role is to ensure alignment between Business’ priorities within IT and Digital delivery. The successful candidate is the primary point of contact to assist in planning, resourcing, and budgeting for projects and small enhancements. This role is also responsible for reporting and issue escalation to stakeholders and lines of business and project steering committees.
Location is St John’s, NL.

What you will achieve in this role

• Manage relationships with business stakeholders at various levels, up to Senior Vice-Presidents.
• Support effective alignment between IT delivery and Business priorities and goals.
• Facilitates completion of Business’ change proposal documents and gathering of initial IT estimates. This includes supporting business case development and mobilization of IT resources for scoping, estimating, and development of detailed business requirements.
• Supports IT and Digital delivery teams by being a point of contact to assist in planning, resourcing, and budgeting for all initiatives (including larger projects and small enhancements).
• Facilitate the prioritization of items utilizing approved budget, value drivers, IT estimates, constraints, and dependencies assessments.
• Engage appropriate stakeholders for issue resolution ensuring the handshake between business units and IT is efficient and smooth.
• Work collaboratively with IT teams and Project Management Office to prepare content for and present to various internal governance committees.

What you bring to this role

• University degree in Business or Computer Science is a preference
• Proven ability to manage and build relationships with multiple stakeholders within IT throughout the business
• Thought Leadership and the ability to strategically lead discussions on IT priorities and goals
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Creative problems solving abilities, strong collaboration and organizational skills
• Previous knowledge of: Business Analyst, Project Management and System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices
• Experience working with Agile development teams and processes would be an asset
• Exposure to using Salesforce.com is preferred
• Experience in insurance is considered an asset
