Position Overview:

Reporting to the VP, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition & Change, the HR Business Partner will provide operational support to leaders and employees within assigned business lines. In this position you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with and understanding of internal policies and external legislation while fostering positive employee engagement. Working in partnership with leaders and the HR Business Partner team, you will be accountable for ensuring alignment of the business and HR strategies with a focus on talent development and retention, performance management, workforce planning, total rewards and change management. This role will support our leaders in our Toronto and Richmond Hill locations.

What you will achieve in this role

• Working closely with the managers within assigned business lines to provide advice on all aspects of HR
• Serve as a primary contact for managers on matters such as new employee transition and integration, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, compensation, and other operational human resources matters
• Drive talent management and development through the organization, at all levels, including development and retention plans for top talent
• Work in conjunction with the HRBP team to locally support business units on strategic workforce planning for their talent requirements aligned to
• Acts as a change agent for organizational transformation; provides HR and change management advice/support on restructuring or other organizational changes
• Supports the effective implementation and application of HR policies, programs and processes; proactively identifies potential challenges and provides innovative solutions
• Contributes to HR initiatives, policies and programs by participating on HR project teams, influencing program design, execution and implementation

What you bring to this role

• University degree in Business focusing on Human Resources or related specialty; CHRP would be an asset
• Minimum of 6-7 years’ of progressive HR experience
• Current knowledge of Canadian employment legislation
• Demonstrated ability to uphold confidentiality and manage sensitive situations with integrity
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, and coaching skills
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships throughout an organization, combined with a strong customer service orientation
• Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands in dynamic environment
• Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Passion for using data, and insight to build a compelling story for change
• Proficient in core office programs (e.g., Microsoft Office products) and capable of learning key HRIS / role specific applications
