Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Claims Examiner to manage a desk of large/complex Auto Bodily Injury Claims that are in the litigation stream. The successful applicant will be responsible for the detailed investigation, evaluation, negotiation and resolution of bodily injury claims arising from motor vehicle accidents in Ontario and the US. You will analyze coverage and liability issues, medical, vocational, and financial information, establish accurate and timely cases reserves and attend mediations, court proceedings and other dispute resolution mechanisms as required. You will maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic claims files.

Location can be either Mississauga or Richmond Hill, Ontario.

What you will achieve in this role

• A minimum of 5-8 years of BI claims handling experience with a focus on litigated file
• You possess strong technical knowledge of Ontario legislation and case law pertaining to Bodily Injury claims.
• You provide exceptional customer service and have excellent people and communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships with our customers, brokers, and legal vendor partners.
• You have a proven ability to showcase your excellent influencing and negotiation skills acquired through several years of handling litigated files.
• You are a strategic thinker and possess strong analytical and problem solving ability
• You are proficient with MS Office platforms and have the ability to pick up new systems with ease
• Completion of College Diploma or a University degree
• CIP Completed, or in progress
• Experience handling commercial claims would be an asset

• Provide principled claims adjusting of moderate to high complexity Auto Bodily Injury Claims.
• Interpret and confirm policy wordings to determine if the claim is within the scope of coverage.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic claims files to ensure integrity in Management Information
• Deliver “best in class” customer service to brokers, customers and colleagues.
• Contribute to team success by meeting productivity targets and consistently leveraging RSA best practices.
• Support business improvements and claims initiatives to ensure successful outcomes
