Position Overview:

Our National Risk Control Technical Assistant opportunity is open to bilingual university or college graduates from a wide range of academic backgrounds. As a technical assistant, you’ll have opportunities to learn about the Insurance Industry and RSA Risk Control Services in particular. You will gain exposure to a wide variety of administrative and technical analytical functions within our Risk Control team and provide analytical and technical support to the national risk control team so that our goals can be achieved.

What you will achieve in this role

Risk Control:

SMART system management

o Oversee all required maintenance of the system and help improve workflows
o Maintain working relationship with the vendor through regular meetings and communication
o Log errors and enter new tickets into Zendesk system and monitor their progress
o Conduct testing of the system as needed
o Resolve technical issues reported by users
o Build and maintain report database in Jasper
o Provide training and underwriting support when required
o Assist underwriting and risk control teams with the management of risk improvement measures
o Run reports on KPI’s, overdue surveys, risk improvement measures and others as needed

Vendor management`
o Monitor contract inspection requirements and perform invoice reconciliation and payment, clear up past due invoices across all regions
o Maintain vendor assessments and performance reviews
o Run reports and metrics as defined by the Director of RCS
o Complete monthly invoicing and cost reporting log

Risk Control Administration

o Complete monthly invoicing & expense management
o Compile national reports on risk control activity
o Compile claims reports and manage claims framework
o Provide support to Head Office Underwriting teams
o Coordinate training efforts
o Review risk control documents prior to release for proper structure, grammar and formatting for all English and French documents, includes Risky Business newsletter, Field Guide updates, Loss Lessons and others as needed
o Additional project work as required
o Conduct monthly expense reconciliation against team budgets
o Regular updates to Risk Control SharePoint / Intranet site RCS related topics
o Creation and regular reporting of reports
o
o Co-ordination of training for RCS related topics in GSL
o Coordinate the annual RCS conference

What you bring to this role

o Post-Secondary education as asset
o Strong problem solving and analytic abilities
o Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
o Proficient in English and French both written and verbal
o Demonstrated previous customer service skills
o Ability to work independently, problem solve, take initiative and use good judgement
o A strong team player
o Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
o Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast paced office environment
o Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner
o Ability to work from home, our Mississauga office and our Downtown office
