Position Overview:

We're looking for a highly motivated individual to assume the role of a Senior Underwriter in the Multinational Risk Team at our Downtown Toronto office responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with all internal and external customers with the goal of providing brilliant service to our global customers and network partners.

The role is critical to the successful delivery of cross border and global programs within the prescribed Multinational Risk Framework. In addition to the day to day underwriting and handling of this business, the candidate also provides technical guidance on various federal and provincial regulations, tax and rating requirements in Canada, US and Foreign countries

What you will achieve in this role

• Utilizing your expertise you will interpret coverage in accordance with underwriting guidelines, local law and best practices within the Multinational Risk Framework
• You are detail oriented and ensure the coverage request falls within local regulations, licensing and legislation's and the premium is adequate to meet local market rating requirements
• You have a thorough knowledge of current market wordings
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with our global network partners
• You are passionate about the impact you have and the knowledge you bring to our customers and continuously exceed their expectations.
• You are driven and thrive in a fast paced environment and achieve global network service standards

What you bring to this role

• Minimum of 5 years relevant commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience.
• High level of technical competence in commercial Property & Casualty underwriting
• Excellent customer service and negotiation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong decision making skills
• Willingness for continuous improvement
• PC and mainframe abilities (knowledge of Global network systems will be an asset)
• University Degree or College Diploma
• Completed or working toward CIP/FCIP designation
